Slovenian production OSM Films wins the award of best film at Filmed By Bike festival in Portland, Oregon.

The cycling films festival Filmed By Bike in the bicycle friendly Portland, Oregon, USA, is a big thing in the world of bike cinematography. 14th edition of the festival took place past weekend and the Slovenian film titled Tracks of Planai by Tina Lagler and Blaž Miklič of OSM Films won the “Golden Helmet Award” for the best film of the festival.

“After missing the deadline last year we entered four this year. We were surprised to see that Tracks of Planai was selected. The film was shot in one day for a contest last year in the Schladming Planai bike park in Austria and edited in two days. The film was nominated for Golden Helmet Award among 59 films by 55 authors from 19 countries,” Tina told us from Portland after receiving the grand prize.

“The competition was outstanding and I could not have expected this outcome. King Of The Mountain and The Trail to Kazbegi, two other nominated films, are excellent documentaries with strong stories and amazing photography, but the jury was convinced by our 1 minute and 16 seconds. They were amazed so much can be expressed in such a short time and in such an artistic way. For us this is a confirmation that we are going in the right direction and that this is really something we want to keep doing.”
