Two Hungarians finish fastest in Komló in front of three Slovenians. Mlinar takes overall in front of Istenič, Spruk and Černilogar end up with same number of points for third.

SloEnduro 4Fun, the international series of one day enduro races, finished with race number ten in Komló, Baranya, Hungary on Sunday. This was the first visit of SloEnduro in Hungary which is now the fifth country to host a SloEnduro or SloEnduro 4Fun race.

Two local riders of team FRO Racing finished fastest in Mecsek Enduro. Dániel Nemes took the win with a notable gap of one minute over second placed Péter Rózsavölgyi after four special stages. Slovenians followed: Miha Spruk (Calcit bike team) was second, just under 8 seconds faster than fourth placed Nejc Černilogar (Energijateam.com). And this gap finally decided the third placed overall in the series.

And the 4Fun series winners are…

Six best results from ten races are included in the final series ranking. Peter Mlinar (Blackthorn), the leader before the final, and second placed Matjaž Istenič (Energijateam.com) decided not to make the trip to Hungary, as didn’t the third placed Austrian Bernd Dorrong (Radlager). Nejc and Mihi were sitting in 4th and 5th respectively passed Dorrong at the final but both ended the series with same number of points: 564. The third placed was decided according to the rule that puts the rider who was faster in final race in front, Miha Spruk. With three wins and two second places Mlinar became the second 4Fun series champion in history and Istenič finished second with two victories.

Women’s title went to Austrian Yana Dobnig (RLM Mondraker Racing Team), second place to Italian Giulia Albanese (UC Caprivesi) and third to another Austrian Petra Bernhard (RC Gravity Eagles Austria). Same as before the last race since no women took part in Mecsek Enduro.

We’ll have the final ranking published shorty but now let’s just mention the categories winners from Mecsek Enduro: Nemes was the fastest in men’s elite, Rózsavölgyi won in masters 1 and Grega Nagode (Energijateam.com) in masters 2. Jan Balantič (Calcit bike team) was the fastest junior in 7th overall and just in front of him in 6th Tibor Kolozsvári (RHM) became the winner in hobby class.

The series will wrap up with award presentation night after the season. Don’t forget, SloEnduro series ends on October 15th and 16th with Enduro Grozni in Grožnjan, Croatia.
