Vid Peršak wins Kamplc Enduro, the series final, after seven demanding stages. Locals Sebastjan Stres and Blaž Černigoj follow. Series titles to Peršak and Petra Bernhard.
Fifth season of SloEnduro, the international mountain bike enduro series based in Slovenia, ended with round six, the Kamplc Enduro in Ajdovščina in Western Slovenia. Vid Peršak (Team Dorrong) was the fastest after Sunday’s seven special stages on the hillside North of the town. Peršak managed to fight off the fast locals and after some 25 minutes of racing he was 22 seconds up on second placed Sebastjan Stres and third placed Blaž Černigoj, both master 1 category riders from the local Kamplc team, also the event organizers.
Austrian Gerd Skant (Team Dorrong) followed in fourth and Czech Premek Tejchman (Haven, Kellys Factory) in fifth place.
Stres won the first stage, the Peršak took over in stages two to five and made a gap. Tejchman won the short sixth stage, then Peršak confirmed his win with the fastest time in seventh stage, also the Kenda SuperStage.

Titles and categories
Peršak won the SloEnduro series title for third year in a row and also won the National Championships title. Skant ended in second overall while another Slovenian Nejc Huth (Energijateam.com) is third.
Petra Bernhard (Team Dorrong) was the only woman on start this time and also became the overall series winner. David Ivartnik (Energijateam.com) won in junior men category while the Austrian Philipp Freudenberg (Radlager) won the series.

Stres is also the series winner in master 1 while Peter Drabik (Svk, Kaktus Bike) won masters 2 without showing up in Ajdovščina.
81 riders from five countries spent close to five hours in the saddles, riding the 30km course with some 1300m of elevation.

A long season
SloEnduro season started in early April in Grožnjan, Croatia. Peršak also took part in Enduro World Series races in Europe and Canada. “I’m pretty tired from all the racing and now the studies and the work… By it was worth it to give my best today. I’m still flying, I’m just not pedalling that well. It was a great race, demanding, the stages were really good. And the crowd was on all stages, from top to bottom. I don’t have special wishes or goals for next season yet, I just want to improve,” said Vid.
