Third edition of Kamplc Enduro on Ajdovščina trails on Sunday April 14. Close to 200 riders from Slovenia and neighbourhood on six special stages which will not be covered in dust.
Everything is set for the start of seventh season in SloEnduro, the Slovenian and regional mountain bike enduro series. The SloEnduro 4Fun series of simpler races already started close to Gorizia, Italy in March. This weekend, on Sunday April 14, the “big league” will start in Ajdovščina, Slovenia with the Kamplc Enduro race.
Ajdovščina is hosting a bike festival with a number of events and races from Friday to Sunday with Kamplc Enduro as Sunday’s highlight. For this occasion, the enduro organizers of Kamplc team joined they efforts with festival organizers of Črn trn/Blackthorn club.
Kamplc Enduro is the oldest enduro event in Slovenia from the times before the SloEnduro series. It will be held in this location for the third year and it also opened the 2018 series. There will be six special stages waiting for the participants on the 22km loop with some 900m of elevation. The first riders takes off at 10am. The under 17 categories will ride the first three stages with some 10km/400m. The exact course will be published on Friday (including the Kenda SuperStage) and the trails will be open for training on Saturday.

Registration closes Thursday night and there were 165 riders registered at the time of publication of this article, representing all the “native” SloEnduro countries: Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia. The 2018 SloEnduro overall champions Yana Dobnig (Team Dorrong) and Vid Peršak (Orbea Enduro Team) are confirmed to appear on start. Peršak is also undefeated at this venue while the two-time winner of women’s race Petra Bernhard who was seriously injured in the middle of last season is still considering her return.
This year’s Kamplc Enduro is also part of the Triveneto Enduro series.
Despite the rain throughout the week the trails should not be too muddy, the organizers are reporting, since the dirt was very dry before the rain.
