Nothing to open at today’s opening of bids for management of Maribor’s Bike park Pohorje.

Today the Marprom public company was supposed to reveal the names of bidders in the tender for Bike park Pohorje management. But no bids came in so there was nothing to reveal.

As the mountain’s coordinator Andrej Verlič stated the high financial obligations like the 150.000 € lift fee obviously turned the bidders away because there were many parties interested previously.

Matej Obu (Bikelab) who bidded previously told newspaper Večer that the problem is in too many unknown parts of the deal like the single legal trail in the park which is not enough for a viable season. The chances of development are not clear.

Previous manager Iztok Tomšič who only had limited time contracts in the past season also kept his offer off the table this time. He said the conditions were not acceptable. He sees the only solution in a union of all interested parties.

Marprom might end up running the park by themselves if they want to start the season on time.
