Qualifications runs under changing weather conditions, finals tomorrow from 12.30.

Today’s 4-hour qualifications for the first round of 2016 iXS European Downhill Cup in Kranjska Gora ran under changing weather conditions but the outcome was not heavily compromised. The course notably got wet once but dried out soon. For some time there was also strong wind.

In men’s elite Polish rider Slawomir Lukasik (NS Bikes FroPro) ended fastest and three more riders squeexed inside a second: 2nd placed Austrian Markus Pekoll (MS Mondraker), 3rd placed German, lats year’s winner Johannes Fischbach (Radon Magura Factory Team) and 4th placed Slovenian Jure Žabjek (Unior Tools Team).

Veronika Widmann from Italy (Bike Club Egna Neumarkt) was fastest in women’s elite category in front of last year’s winner, Swiss Carina Capellari (Radon Magura Factory Team) and Czech Jana Bartova (RRP) in third. Slovenia Monika Hrastnik (Črn trn) and Zarja Černilogar (Unior Tools Team) followed in 3rd and 4th, both riding injured.

On Sunday the finals start at 12.30. Similar weather is forecast.
