Coming up this weekend: the final event of 2019 SloEnduro 4Fun series, Golovec Trails Ljubljana on Sunday September 22nd! Last year’s first edition gathered 127 riders on wet trails. So how many (of you) are coming this time?
Golovec Trails is a Ljubljana based bike club which is building and maintaining mountain bike trails on the Golovec hill. Golovec is stretching in direction of West from Ljubljana city center. The trails are friendly to any type of bike from hardatils to downhill rigs but they are best suited to trail and enduro bikes. So they put on their first event last year and joined the SloEnduro family.
They say it’s the event of the year on their hill and that they are expecting 150 riders or more from at least 5 countries. There will be lots of spectators as well since the venue is close to so many people.
The race starts at 11am and will go on until 4.40pm. The riders will take on four special stages: Trije bratje (The three btothers), Zmajeva (Dragon’s), Žabarska (Froggy) and Županov (Mayor’s).
The venue is based by Oskar Kovačič primary school, Rudnik I/6, Ljubljana. It will include food, drinks and bike service.
No less than 13 categories await rider from 11 years on. The latter will join the U15 category which will race on the first 3 stages of the day.

Catch Jure
Additional motivation for all riders: try to get glose to the time of Jure Žabjek, Slovenia’s most successful downhill racer of all times. He lives right below the trails so that probably doesn’t help you a bit. Nobody got close last year, not even the winner Kristjan Vreček. Špela Horvat won the women’s race.
The spectators won’t be bored either. The organizers are inviting you to join a prize game. The best Instagram post, including hashtags #catchjureifyoucan or #golovectrails, receives a prize.
On Saturday you can join a ride to some less known trails of Golovec hill.
