Racing in hard conditions in Styria, Austria in SloEnduro 4Fun series and in Istria, Croatia in EndCro Cup. The Austrians had it harder.

Our first “enduro weekend” compilation post. This must mean there are mora races around. One was in Styria, Austria, the other one in Istria, Croatia. Both in rough weather conditions.

SloEnduro 4Fun: Enduro Gradec

The first time organizers (Radlager team, Lemur Bike & Bones shop and Lines magazine), who were bold enough to use the Slovenian name for their home city in the event name — it was after all the fourth round of SloEnduro 4Fun series — had really bad luck with the weather. After morning practice in dry the storm with lightning moved in and the Schöckl mountain gondola was stopped. So they were forced to cancel the two longest stages from top of the mountain and run only two short ones by pedaling 350 elevation meters to the start.

Daniel Schemmel (Cube Action Team) was fastest in rain and mud in front of Matthias Stonig (MS Mondraker) in second and Mario Schneeweiss (Radlager) in third. Peter Mlinar (KK Črn trn) was the fastest Slovenian in 4th place.

Members of home team Radlager took victories in three categories: Petra Bernhardt was the fastest woman, Bernd Dorrong was fastest in master 1 and Cri Maierhofer in master 2 category. Leopold Köllner (RC Andasbiken) won the hobby class.

In spite of bad weather 116 riders showed up to race out of 150 from the sold-out pre-registration list. The spirits remained high all the way through the raindrops and mud.

EndCro: Enduro Škrbina

This was the inaugural race of the new Croatian enduro series at the venue of the former international downhill race in Buzet, Istria.

It took the winner just over 16 minutes to get through the three muddy runs on the same course and the gaps behind him were big. Frano Liović (BK Stina) won the race in front of Daniel Cerovac (KK Jastrebarsko WD40bike) and Filip Vunjak.

Andraž Tekavčič (MTB Galaxy) was the fastest Slovenian in 7th.
