This weekend round five of SloEnduro series hosted by experienced Calcit Bike Team. Doubles as National Championships and there is a music festival in the mix.
This season SloEnduro, the Slovenian international mountain bike enduro series, unites six events in Slovenia, Italy and Croatia. Each event is unique and so is the Enduro Kamnik this weekend, on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of August. There are many reasons for this.
It is also the race that will crown this year’s Slovenian Enduro National Champions. Even if this race was not part of SloEnduro “major league” last year since the organizers Calcit Bike Team opted to hold a 4Fun series one day race. But this is a skilled organizing team, known for putting on many races every year including the UCI C1 cross-country race. So they were trusted with the fourth edition of enduro Nationals, also round 5 of SloEnduro and of course open for international riders. Slovenian MTB Enduro Open so to speak.
And there is one more special thing about it: it’s the time of Kamfest, a week long musical festival in Kamnik, the liveliest week of the year on the streets of this town close to Ljubljana. And Saturday evening’s prologue is taking place right in the middle of it from 7.30pm.
On Sunday riders will head for the trails nearby from downtown again and race in five special stages on three courses with total elevation of 1300m.

Who’s zooming whom?
There are riders from six countries registered so far but the fastest will usually appear on the list as last. After Black Hole Enduro Peter Mlinar (Črn trn/Blackthorn) managed to stay on top of the standings, keeping a gap of just 50 points over Vid Peršak (Gaes Orbea Enduro Crew) who is returning from Whistler at least a little bit angry after DNF-ing. Austrian Daniel Schemmel (Cube Action Team) is in third but he is now 250 points down on Mlinar after a mechanical at Black Hole. Just like Vid on Peter it is Tadej Razpet (Pedal Racing Team) catching up on Daniel just 50 points behind.
It is almost sure that something will change in top three after Kamnik even if some locals could be aiming for that champion’s jersey more than the series points.
In women’s standing it is Austrian Yana Dobnig (RLM Mondraker Racing Team) still on top with another Austrian Petra Bernhardt (Gravity Eagles) sharing second with Italian Giulia Albanese (UC Caprivesi).
