On Sunday, the crew of Trieste club A.S.D. 360 MTB held the eighth edition of their Enduro 3 Camini (the three chimneys) race. Again, a part of the SloEnduro 4Fun series.

The event drew close to 200 riders from five countries. Most of them took on the 26km course with four special stages while 32 young riders finished their race after three special stages and20 km.

Italian rider Erwin Ronzon (CMC Cycling Experience) ended up as fastest overall on the long course with the total time of special stages of 14 minutes, 9 seconds and 88 hundred. 10 seconds slower, the Austrian Matthias Stonig finished second and the multiple former Italian downhill champion Alan Beggin (5.1 Bike Team) finished third another three seconds down.

The fastest junior of the day Daniele Carollo (AR6 – DH Team) followed in fourth and Ronzon’s teammate Davide Dalpian in fifth place.

Winner of elite master category Riccardo Plesnicar (Caprivesi), the winner of Go Enduro 4Fun race just over a month ago, was 6th. Fastest masters 30-39 rider Francesco Remoto (Fun Bike-Cussigh Bike) was 9th overall, the 40-49 winner Ruggero Iob (ASD Maglia nera) was 27th overall and 50+ winner Claudio Remoto (Fun Bike-Cussigh Bike) 48th overall.

Camilla Cassol (SSD Pedale Feltrino) won the women’s race in front of Nadine Ellecosta (Bike Team Gais ASV) in second and Eli Cos (Team Granzon) in third place.

On the short course the young riders of the hosting club took the highest honours. Three from the U17 category were fastest overall: Zeno Gregorio (ASD 360 MTB) from Matteo Betagnin (Switch Team) and Massimo De Sabbata (Team Granzon). Right behind them in fourth was the U15 winner Lorenzo Pagliari Consolati (ASD 360 MTB). Giulia Sandrin of ASD 360 MTB was the only U17 woman in the field and her teammate Sara Gregorio the only in the U15 female category.

The day started in light drizzle but the first three special stages remained dry at least in larger part which is covered by trees. But there was more rain after one hour break before the fourth special stage which was partly held on a new trail. So, the last racing part of the day was very slippery. That is when the choice of wet condition tires in the morning paid off for some.
