Successful bid by venue on island of Lošinj. 2018 UCI DH World Cup season opens on April 21st/22nd in Veli Lošinj.

International Cycling Federation (UCI) published the calendar of 2018 Mountain Bike World Cup. Big news for our part of the world: the premiere mountain bike racing series will be coming to Croatia for the first time in its history! On April 21st and 22nd the island of Lošinj will be hosting the first downhill race of the season.

This means success for the join bid of Slovenian organizers MTB Trbovlje and local club AK Lošinj, supported by Lošinj Hotels, town of Mali Lošinj and local turist organization. As expected only one of two bids from the region was successful – the other one was submitted by Graz, Austria (XCO) and Maribor, Slovenia (DHI) for a double event.

Congratulations to the hosts!
