Five special stages this weekend in Jamnica and on Petzen with close to 2000 m of descending. SloEnduro and EWS European Series points up for grabs. Join the Black Hole Bike Fest.
We were all proud to see the Black Hole Enduro, a SloEnduro classic, on the calendar of Enduro World Series, the highest level of mountain bike enduro racing in the world. At the same time, we missed this event in SloEnduro season.
With seventh edition, the Black Hole Enduro returns to the SloEnduro family which is of the same age! This weekend there will be SloEnduro as well as EWS European Continental Series points available on the trails in Jamnica, Slovenia, and Petzen, Austria. After Kamplc Enduro in April this will be the second round of SloEnduro and after stops in Spain and Scotland it is round three of EWS European Series.
There are two days of racing ahead of over 200 registered riders. It starts Saturday June 22 afternoon with a run down the Thriller in MTBZone Bike Park Petzen. This will also be the Kenda SuperStage for the weekend. On Sunday 23 the day starts with shuttle transfer to Slovenian side where three stages will be waiting: Miller’s, Postman’s and Blueberry. Then back to Petzen for the notorious EWS Trail. All together 36,24km on bikes with 1911m of descending but about 1000m less climbing since the two ascents to top of Petzen trails are done by gondola.
On Saturday, the action starts at 4pm, on Sunday at 9am, both times from start/finish venue at Petzen base.
The Festival
The main events of this year’s Black Hole Bike Fest are packed into four days. The festival ends on Tuesday June 25, a national holiday, with cross-country Olympic National Championships in Ravne na Koroškem. Kids Day will also be held in Ravne the same day. The Black Hole Marathon has been cancelled this year due to low number of pre-registered riders.
