New ski resort management, Kamplc bike park crew leaves and new one enters. But chairlift remains still this year.

Out stroll through Slovenian parks at the beginning of the season continues with news less great but it will hopefully turn out to be a good one. But we’ll have to wait for that until next year.

After ten seasons in business Bike park Javornik will not open this year. Javornik ski resort is under new management but even before the switch the Kamplc crew that managed the bike park operation from day one, decided to call it quits.

New bike park team enters the picture, the Deš Fleš club from Šempeter, but they decided not to open the park this year yet. “As we wish to provide you with the best service and trails, the bike park will be closed this summer. Meanwhile, we will take our time to refresh the bike park,” they wrote in their statement and called for ideas and suggestions.

The Kamplc guys just got tired of the work after a decade. “We were running all the park operations, mostly course building and maintenance and bike rentals. It was taking a lot of time and the income was just not worth it any more,” says Nejc Bole.

The park opened its doors in 2007 and their best seasons were 2014 and 2015 when they sold over 200 daily passes on a good weekend. “We would have to invest now to be competitive and it is hard to compete with other parks in that matter since they have good support from the owners,” says Nejc.

“We got tired,” adds the Kamplc visionary Sebastjan Stres. “Besides that the ski season is still more important at Javornik. Even if there is none. We are returning to our home trails in Ajdovščina where we want to do more for mountain biking. We want to build new trails, we are organizing SloEnduro final this year.”
