New yet classic event in the series to conclude fifth season of the international series. Plus Slovenian Championships race. One day, seven special stages and 1300 elevation meters.

Fifth season of SloEnduro, the international mountain bike enduro series based in Slovenia, will wrap up this Sunday, October 8th, with round six in Ajdovščina, Slovenia. Kamplc Enduro is a new race in the series, but only regarding the location. The Kamplc team of Ajdovščina already organized the race with the same name in Javornik bike park. First in 2011 as the first enduro event in Slovenia, then in 2012 and during first three seasons in SloEnduro seasons, from 2013 (the first Slovenian Championships) to 2015. So the Kamplc Enduro in Ajdovščina is really a new race with tradition!

Even if some titles may be decided or almost decided before the final round, the race in Ajdovščina will not be any less exciting: it is also the fifth National Enduro Championships race for the Slovenians.

On Saturday the riders will be getting to know the trails and picking up their race numbers. All the racing is squeezed into Sunday. The first rider will take off from Pale park at 9. The riders will face about 30km of riding with total elevation of 1300m and seven special stages to decide the last winners of the season.

Course details will be posted on Thursday when the course will also be marked.

On top of standings

Slovenian Vid Peršak (Team Dorrong) will be crowned as series overall champion for third year in a row. That is a fact after Enduro Gradec two weeks ago. He won the first four rounds and finished second to new Austrian champion Markus Pekoll in Graz. Vid’s teammate, Austrian Gerd Skant, is rather safe in second, only in theory he can be passed by another Austrian Matthias Stonig who sits in third. But Matthias’s spot is far from safe, he is closely chased by Slovenian Nejc Huth (Energijateam.com) and Slovak Peter Drabik (Kaktus Bike) who are tied in points in 4th and 5th.

Austrian Petra Bernhard (Team Dorrong) is defending a comfortable lead from Yana Dobnig (Aut, MS Mondraker) in women’s ranking. Austrian Philipp Freudenberg (Radlager Mountainbikeverein) is going to Ajdovščina in best position in junior men. Two Kamplc locals are topping the master 1 standings, Sebastjan Stres in Blaž Černigoj, while the forementioned Drabik is holding the title in master 2.

Jerseys and medals

Tadej Razpet (Pedal Racing Team) is defending the men’s elite title. He is having a very bad season with just one result and is sitting in 81st position in SloEnduro standings. Women’s title was not presented last year and Matjaž Istenič (Energijateam.com) will not be defending his junior title since he moved to elite this year. Robert Kordež (Black Hole Enduro Team) is the defending Slovenian champion in master 1 and Grega Nagode (Energijateam.com) in master 2.

So the action starts on Sunday from 9am and the award presentation is planned for 4.30pm. Now let’s wait for Thursday for exact race course,
